what is Hemp?

It is important to understand the effects that Hemp has on specific ailments, however, we must widen the scope to understand the correlation between Hemp, the human body and the interaction between the two. Only then can we begin to fathom how this naturally occurring compound may have therapeutic benefits.

First, we must recognize the human body and its endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is responsible for controlling the brain, endocrine, nervous and immune systems. It has a regulatory effect and response to stress, secretion of hormones and overall homeostasis. The ECS maintains our health by creating such balance within the body.

When the endocannabinoid system becomes unbalanced, the systems in which the ECS controls will begin to dysfunction. This leads to ailments within the body and symptoms can occur. The body seeks to regulate itself again and find that healthy homeostasis.

Learn how it works

Farming

Sugar and Kush Hemp comes from hemp grown right in the heart of our country, Kentucky. The all-natural pure Hemp cultivated from our heartland is where our holistic approach starts by following the guidelines of the Kentucky Hemp Pilot Program along with the Department of Agriculture. We have met all of the standards of the U.S. Hemp Authority Certification program, a self-regulatory program intended to instill confidence in our process with law enforcement and of course our customers.

Extraction

We only use a pure Hemp isolate extracted from Kentucky grown hemp in our Hemp oils, Hemp edibles and Hemp topicals under the oversight of the U.S. Hemp Authority Certification program. Our pure Hemp isolate is extracted following the strict guidelines of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Our extraction process ensures quality control by utilizing food grade compound extraction. All THC, the psychoactive compound that can be found in trace amounts in hemp, is removed from the isolate.

Manufacturing

All Sugar and Kush Hemp products are manufactured following the Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs). Manufacturing Hemp gummies, Hemp baked goods, Hemp topicals and both pure unflavored Hemp oil and flavored Hemp oils should, of course, be held to the same standards as any other product regulated by the FDA. By following CGMPs, we ensure the proper design, monitoring and control of our manufacturing processes and facilities.

Hemp Lab Testing

You should never purchase any Hemp product that does not have a certificate of analysis issued by an ISO 17025 accredited (only keep this if the lab you are not using is accredited) third party lab. Hemp lab tests confirm how many mgs of Hemp is in each product and whether the THC concentration could potentially lead to a failed Hemp oil drug test. Sugar and Kush Hemp oils, edibles and topicals are also tested for their entire cannabinoid profile, microbials, pesticides, heavy metals such as lead, solvents and other toxins. You can find Hemp lab results by clicking the View Lab Report link below the Add to Cart button on each product page.
