Hemp Around the Country

Hemp Around the Country

Hemp is different depending on where you go in the United States or the entire world.  It is not that the biological compound is different, it’s that laws vary from state-to-state. States like Nevada, California and Massachusetts have legalized the use of medical and recreational marijuana. Anyone 21 years of age or older can walk into a dispensary and buy all sorts of psychoactive products full of THC. Products labeled as a Hemp product will also contain many other cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.

The federal legalization for the hemp plant has allowed for the sale and distribution of Hemp throughout the U.S. as long as it is  derived from the hemp plant. Some states are still very strict about Hemp products and certain military branches prohibit the use of Hemp gummies, oils or vapes for active military members. In a state like Florida that has legalized medical marijuana, the dispensaries cannot sell Hemp edibles still. Although, a Floridian could order Hemp edibles online and have them delivered as long as they did not come from a medical marijuana dispensary. Some countries still prohibit the growing, cultivating and sale of any sort of hemp oil.

One retailer in Alaska is adding non-psychoactive mushroom derivatives to their Hemp products. The concern though is not the mushrooms, it’s still the CBD. Eliza Muze manages the Marijuana Education Program as a part of the Alaska Division of Public Health. Her concerns come back to Hemp lab testing. She argues that without third party lab testing that provides a certificate of analysis, customers should steer clear of a company selling any kind of CBD.

Some stores are putting all sorts of crazy stuff in their Hemp products.

"It's definitely a buyer-beware situation," Muze said. "There's really a lot that we don't know about CBD.”

Muze says retailers should provide a third-party test to confirm the ingredients they're marketing are actually being used in the product. The tests also look for illegal pesticides, mold, etc. Dellapietro says he does perform these tests on his products.

"We want to be ahead of the game, so that when people come and approach us and say 'How are you regulating this?' We've already taken our first steps," he said.

We only offer the very best Hemp products on the market. We use third party labs that have the highest tier of certification to verify the concentration of Hemp in our gummies, oils and Hemp bath bombs. Here, check out our Hemp lab testing page.
